City of London School was founded in 1442, by John Carpenter, who had listed a bequest of land with the desired purpose being a place to support children. This bequest was administered by the Corporation of London in around 1460, and for the next 300 years, they continued to help support children in London. Then in 1826, a new approach was adopted, with the proposal being the founding of a new school called City of London Corporation School. The school was initially located in Milk Street from 1837-1883, before moving to Victoria Embankment, where it remained until 1986. It then moved to Queen Victoria Street where it has remained to this day.
