This free worksheet helps children practise 11 Plus non-verbal reasoning matrices. Matrix questions place shapes in a grid and ask pupils to identify the missing shape by finding the rule across each row or column.

How do non-verbal reasoning matrices work?

Children may need to track rotations, reflections, position, shading, number or combinations of shapes. A reliable method is to compare one feature at a time and check that the same relationship works throughout the grid.

This practice is suitable for GL Assessment-style 11 Plus exams and other entrance tests containing non-verbal reasoning.
