The papers within this pack are designed in line with the GL style assessment in mind. They follow the mixed paper structure used in many areas: one paper combines English and verbal reasoning, and the other combines Maths and non-verbal reasoning.
This pack includes two full, timed GL style practice papers in the mixed format:

You also receive answer sheets and mark schemes so you can mark accurately and spot patterns in mistakes.
Timing note
These papers are timed as a whole, rather than section by section. Please note that some local authorities may structure their GL exams differently.
Why practise with full papers
1. Build familiarity
Many pupils are not used to the pace of mixed papers, where question styles change within the same sitting, even when the content is based on the National Curriculum.
2. Identify weaknesses
Practice papers help you pinpoint gaps across English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, so you can target revision more effectively.
3. Reduce exam-day pressure
Sitting timed papers builds confidence and improves time management, which often helps reduce anxiety on the day.
