Forest School – History
Forest School was founded in 1834, by William Taylor Copeland, opening on the 1st October with 22 pupils. However, over the nineteenth century, the school grew and became one of the most successful nineteenth-century schools. From 1875-1879, Forest School played in the F.A Cup, becoming the first and only school to do so. The school continued to become successful throughout the 1900s, regularly expanding to accommodate more students and in the late 1970s, it opened admissions for girls in the school.

Forest School – Entrance exam
The Forest School entrance exams consist of two main parts:
- A Non-Calculator Maths paper (60 mins)
- A Reading and Writing English paper (70 mins)
After the exams, candidates who perform well will be invited to an interview with a senior member of staff, and those who impress in the interviews will be offered a place in the school. Scholarships and Bursaries are also available for those who are offered places.
